A second forum for West Seneca Central School parents designed to continue providing “updated information regarding the proposed reconfiguration of middle schools and relocation of current East Elementary students” is scheduled to be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the auditorium at West Middle School, 395 Center Road.
This meeting, which follows a Jan. 17 public presentation by the district at East middle about the proposal to switch the middle schools to grades 6-8, is designed to provide parents another opportunity to learn about the district’s plans.
School officials noted that the district’s regular board of education meeting scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Monday in the second-floor administration board room at West Elementary School, 1397 Orchard Park Road, will not consist of discussion about the reconfiguration.

• The West Seneca Veterans Committee is expected to welcome Erie County Clerk Chris Jacobs and his staff to the West Seneca Senior Citizens Center, 4620 Seneca St., Thursday morning to issue “Thank a Vet” identification cards to honorably-discharged veterans in town. The ID cards will be processed from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Thursday at the senior center. The discount card offers benefits at more than 350 businesses countywide that volunteer to provide discounts for veterans. Veterans interested in obtaining a card should bring their original discharge papers to the event for recording with the county clerk. There, applications will be completed and pictures taken at the senior center. Paperwork will then be taken and processed in downtown Buffalo before the original discharge and ID Discount Card is mailed to eligible veterans.
