Sprinkler lines burst or malfunctioned Sunday in at least five separate buildings in Amherst, according to Amherst Fire Control.

Firefighters were dispatched to apartments on Deer Lakes Drive at 2:24 and at 3:08 p.m., due to activated sprinklers, although no fires were found.

A sprinkler head that went off about 8 p.m. inside the Dosberg Building on Weinberg Campus caused minor water damage, and no residents were evacuated.

Damage appeared to be more substantial inside Emeritus at Bassett Manor, an assisted-living facility on Bassett Road. East Amherst firefighters responded at about 8:45 p.m.

A broken sprinkler line also was reported to fire control inside a dormitory on the University at Buffalo’s North Campus.
