Daisy B. George of Lackawanna, an executive secretary at Friendship House in Lackawanna for 25 years, died Wednesday in Mercy Hospital. She was 87.

Mrs. George worked at Bell Aircraft and then in the War Department in Washington, D.C., during World War II and later filled a position for the Veterans Administration in Buffalo. She then raised a family.

The Lackawanna native returned to work at Friendship House of Western New York, broadening her community service. The community center where she worked provided comprehensive services to people of all ages.

She is survived by two daughters, Cathleen Adams and Barbara Daniels; four sons, Terry, Wilbert Jr., Kenneth and Russell; a sister, Doris Belton; and three brothers, Leonard Baker Sr., Daniel Baker Sr. and Jerome Baker.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Greater St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church, 450 William St.
