TOWN OF LOCKPORT – Authorities said they arrested a Grand island man for drunken driving early Saturday after he drove at speeds approaching 100 mph, then sped off after being initially pulled over.
Talon M. Colbert, 20, of Grand Island Boulevard, was arrested at 2:24 a.m. at Chestnut Ridge and Keck roads. He had been clocked driving 96 mph in a 40 mph zone, Niagara County sheriff’s deputies said.
As a deputy emerged from his patrol vehicle, Colbert drove off but was pulled over a short time later, authorities said.
Colbert posted a blood-alcohol level of 0.16, twice the legal limit, and also was charged with speeding, deputies added.
