Buffalo’s assets are too numerous to list

With the affirmation of Buffalo reflected in comments from our new Albright-Knox Art Gallery director, I used to travel a great deal and often responded to snide remarks about our city.

I would concede that there were some challenges with the weather, but Buffalo did have a world-class symphony orchestra performing in one of the dozen best concert halls in the world, the second-longest ongoing community chamber music series in the country, a world-class art gallery with the best collection of modern art in the country other than the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, extraordinary architecture, seven legitimate theaters and two professional sports teams. So it is true that unless you are tough and cultured, you shouldn’t even consider living here!
