Daniel C. Sacco, of Lackawanna, a retired Buffalo firefighter, died Thursday in Mercy Hospital after a brief illness. He was 82.

Born in Buffalo, Mr. Sacco attended Grover Cleveland High School. In 1946, he enlisted in the Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.

Mr. Sacco served from 1960 to 1988 in the Buffalo Fire Department, assigned to Hook & Ladder No. 12.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, the former Marie A. DeTillio; a son, John; three daughters, Linda Erdman, Donna Kensinger and Paula Drabik; and a brother, Richard.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. today in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 3148 Abbott Road, Orchard Park.
