BATAVIA – Western Regional Off-Track Betting, the public benefit corporation serving 15 counties in the region, unanimously re-elected Richard D. Bianchi from Monroe County as its board chairman.
Bianchi will return to the role that he has held for the past two years. Thomas P. Wamp from Livingston County was re-elected as vice chairman.
OTB officials announced that the corporation enjoyed “a record year on the gaming side” in 2012, with a 13 percent increase in revenue over 2011.
Western Regional OTB owns Batavia Downs Racetrack and Batavia Downs Casino, a facility with 640 video slot machines that is to receive a $28 million expansion. The improvements are expected to begin within a month.
OTB officials also announced that an online wagering platform, bataviabets.com, is scheduled to be launched soon.
