LOCKPORT – Interviews likely will be held this week for the vacant position of part-time city budget consultant, Common Council President Anne E. McCaffrey said.
She said the only response to an advertisement for the post came from Craig E. Speers of Buffalo, a retired municipal auditor for the state Comptroller’s Office, and the local auditing firm of Lumsden & McCormick.
Richard P. Mullaney, who retired as city clerk and budget director at the end of 2011, worked on the 2012 budget under a $12,000 contract. McCaffrey said the amount to be paid to his successor is undetermined.
“I could see it going somewhat above $12,000,” McCaffrey said, adding that a selection should be made by mid- to late February.
