A pair of community forums next week, one in Buffalo, the other in Niagara Falls, will give the public a chance to help focus a regional plan for the Niagara Frontier.

The “Community Congress” events will be held at 7 p.m. next Tuesday in Asbury Hall at Babeville, 341 Delaware Ave., and at 2 p.m. Feb. 2 in the Conference and Event Center Niagara Falls, 101 Old Falls St., Niagara Falls.

The forums will help develop an initiative called One Region Forward, which will assess all the regional, municipal and special purpose plans for things including economic development, recreation, transportation, neighborhood revitalization, water resources and food access, then put them together in a Regional Plan for Sustainable Development.

One Region Forward is being launched through a $2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. It is administered by the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority through the Greater Buffalo Niagara Regional Transportation Council. For more information, visit
