It’s tough to reason with many gun lovers

Some of the best advice I received from my very wise and practical mother was: “Never try to reason with a child who is tired or a man who is drunk.” Now I have one more group to add to that list. That would be gun owners. I am willing to concede that there is no reasoning with people who love their guns. They are more fearful of gun laws than they are of the possibility of a malcontent with a weapon showing up at their children’s school or the movie theater. Guns are sacred to them and more guns are the solution to our problems. I can only hope the powers that be are persistent in pursuing sensible laws to protect all of us.
