Mr. Jones was active in sports, was an avid tennis player and was a supporter of the Buffalo Bills and Sabres.

Family members said he enjoyed playing bridge and duplicate bridge throughout his life, and was also fond of the arts. He was a gardener, a singer and a world traveler.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, the former Ruth Hughes. His first wife, the former Helen Henry, died in 1980. Besides his wife, Mr. Jones is also survived by his four sons, Bruce, Craig, Douglas and Eric; and three stepdaughters, Susan Wilson, Marsha Whittington and Lise Mann.
