Hope you enjoyed those unseasonably warm temperatures on Saturday, because things are about to change.
A high wind warning will run through 4 p.m. today, as the region faces wind gusts of up to 60 mph, along with a mix of rain or snow showers and temperatures that drop into the 20s, said Tom Paone, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service at Buffalo Niagara International Airport.
“It’s going to be a pretty dramatic change,” Paone said late Saturday. “The main thing is going to be the dramatic increase in the winds, especially in the morning,”
Saturday’s high of 47 degrees will be replaced today by temperatures that fall into the 20s, as a strong cold front moved in overnight.
The winds and falling temperatures will drop the wind chill into the single digits, Paone said.
Freezing temperatures and scattered snow showers will continue throughout the week, with high temperatures reaching only the teens on Tuesday and Wednesday, Paone said.
