The School Board last week awarded three contracts for the new $6.37 million bus transportation center, to be built on the site of the existing center behind Sidway Elementary School.

They include Cannon Design, $340,000 for architectural services; Campus Construction Management, $327,000 for project management; and EDR Co., a contract not to exceed $17,970 for work on the wetland permitting process.

The board also approved:

• Payment of an additional $5,500 for Paradigm Environmental Co. for more studies for the presence of asbestos, lead paint and PCBs in school buildings as part of the $51.4 million capital project. The firm will also assist in updating the district’s Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act reports that date to the 1980s.

Also this week:

• The Planning Board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the first floor conference room of Town Hall, 2255 Baseline Road.

• The Town Board will hold workshop meetings at 11 a.m. Monday and 9 a.m. Tuesday in Town Hall.
