Tammy A. Sigurdson, of Alden, a health care worker and cake decorator, died Tuesday after a two-year battle with brain cancer. She was 45.

Born Tammy Capage in Buffalo, she was a graduate of Lafayette High School. She worked as a phlebotomist for Women & Children’s Hospital and Quest Diagnostics.

She also was affiliated with North AmeriCare and the Alden Medical Center.

An Alden resident since 1998, she started her own cake decorating business, Tempting Treats by Tammy, while at home raising her children.

Involved in parent organizations, she was a board member of the Alden Preschool, was active in the Alden School PTO and was a founding member of Mom’s Coffee Club.

She enjoyed wine tasting in the Finger Lakes with her husband and was a member of the Hammondsport Wine Sipping Society.

She also enjoyed bowling in various leagues.

Surviving are her husband, Peter; a daughter, Alyssa; a son, Andrew; her mother, Janet Capage; and a brother, Charles Capage III.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Monday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2021 Sandridge Road, Alden.
