Fire drove five adults and three children from their West Side home early this morning.

The blaze started at about 3:30 a.m. in the 2 and half story wood frame home on the 400 block of Hoyt Street, causing about $35,000 damage, a fire official reported.

The Red Cross was called to provide temporary shelter.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation, fire official said,

No injuries were reported.
