State Sen. Tim Kennedy, D-Buffalo, will lead a rally to support an increase in the minimum wage at 10 a.m. Friday in the Gloria J. Parks Community Center, 3242 Main St.

Dozens of community activists, faith-based leaders and local residents are expected to attend.

Kennedy has co-sponsored a proposal to hike the state’s minimum wage to $8.50 from $7.25 an hour. About one million workers, nearly 11 percent of the state’s workforce, would be affected.
