Several elementary school students suffered minor injuries when two Ken-Ton School District school buses collided at the intersection of Military Road and Kenmore Avenue this morning, Kenmore Police Capt. William Phillips said.
The accident took place at about 7:40 a.m.
A school bus driver transporting an estimated 28 children was headed west on Mang Avenue. The bus stopped at a stop sign and then kept going, failing to yield to cross traffic on Military. A second bus, which was empty, was northbound on Military and was struck by the first bus. The empty bus then hit a utility pole and a building.
Phillips said several children suffered bumps and bruises but no serious injuries were reported.
The driver of the bus carrying the children received a ticket for failing to yield to traffic.
