YWCA of Western New York officials on Tuesday will release details on an unreported arson that recently caused almost $100,000 in damage and destroyed a domestic violence safe house operated by the organization.
Deborah Lynn Williams, agency CEO, and Gwen A. Howard, chairwoman of the board of directors, are slated to discuss the arson that left a family of three homeless.
Details of the still unsolved arson will be disclosed during a press conference at the YWCA headquarters on Grant Street.
Officials told The News that the arson gutted the house and at a time when such emergency shelters are at capacity locally. The Y has a waiting list of victims of domestic violence seeking such shelters for themselves and their children.
