Boehner’s inability to lead is evident
Rep. John Boehner found out that there is a difference between being a hard negotiator and a good negotiator. He failed to realize that “over the cliff” meant a short fall into President Obama’s briar patch – where all the tax cuts disappeared and much of the military budget landed on the endangered list.
We can thank the 2011-2012 Congress and its “Super Committee” for their original ineptitude, but we must look to Boehner’s lack of leadership for this latest debacle. In the end, it may have been his inability to do math that undermined his authority: in the last general election, Boehner garnered a little under 250,000 votes. Obama, on the other hand, earned over 65 million votes. Elementary school arithmetic, Mr. Boehner. Which one’s bigger?
