A Grand Island man who tried to clear snow from the discharge chute of his snowblower Saturday afternoon ended up with a hand injury, Grand Island Fire Company officials said.

About 3:30 p.m., emergency personnel were dispatched to the West River Road home of Ronald Sutton, 51, whose hand had become trapped in the chute of the snowblower. After being freed from the machine, he was treated at the scene, then taken to Erie County Medical Center, authorities said. Hospital officials late Saturday said Sutton had been released following treatment.
