Little Feat – an American institution, and widely regarded as a progenitor of the jam-band scene - rolls ever onward after some 40 years in the game. The group’s daring fusion of variegated aspects of Americana - blues, jazz, country, rock, funk - has long made it a live ensemble with broad appeal to jam-band lover and classic rock aficionado alike.

Despite the ravages that are inevitable in a collective life - legendary drummer Richie Hayward succumbed to cancer in 2010, and guitarist/vocalist Paul Barrere is sitting out the band’s winter tour to undergo treatment for complications arising from hepatitis C - Little Feat remains in fine form. Its rather brilliant 2012 release “Rooster Rag” earned rave reviews and presented a band at the peak of it creative prowess.

Little Feat returns to the Bear’s Den, Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls at 8 p.m. Saturday, Tickets start at $50 (box office, Ticketmaster). Visit www.senecaniagaracasino.com.
