Who?: Joelle Labert, vocals; Derek Bassett, guitar/vocals; Thom Davis, drums/vocals; Nathan Montague, harmonica/guitar/vocals; Michael Tinsmon, bass/vocals.
What?: Fully tenured area roots rock/Americana outfit. Flatbed’s lilting blend of folk, country and early rock ’n’ roll is skillfully assembled and soulfully presented. The band’s new disc, “Scratches and Dents,” is to Buffalo what Lucinda Williams’ “Car Wheels On A Gravel Road” is to Austin, Texas.
What’s next?: Flatbed will perform at 6 tonight in Duke’s Bohemian Grove Bar (253 Allen St.). Long a staple at both Nietzsche’s and the Sportsmen’s Tavern, Flatbed’s Duke’s gig will mark its debut at the Allentown hotspot. Copies of the “Scratches and Dents” disc will be available via download card or CD for a donation based on the purchaser’s discretion.
