FREDONIA – An administrator from the University of Wisconsin system has been tapped as the new provost at Fredonia State College.
Terry Brown will take over as the college’s provost and vice president for academic affairs – the second-highest position at the college – on July 1, the school announced Friday.
Brown, who was chosen as Fredonia provost after a national search, earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English from Virginia Tech, as well as a doctorate in English from the University of Florida.
Over the past 24 years, Brown has served in a variety of administrative positions in the University of Wisconsin system, including provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and dean of the college of arts and sciences at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls – both of which are similar to Fredonia in enrollment.
She is currently involved in academic, budget and facilities planning in the system’s office of academic and student affairs.
