Four Buffalo men have been indicted by a St. Lawrence County grand jury for allegedly operating a drug ring in the City of Ogdensburg.
The Watertown Daily Times reported today that the four were arrested last month at a city apartment complex. Charles J.H. Caviness, 24; Eldridge Gossom, 25; Andre L. Wilson, 40; and Tige K. Smith Jr., 24, were arraigned Wednesday on a charge of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony.
Ogdensburg police told the newspaper the arrests resulted from an ongoing investigation into crack cocaine trafficking in the city. The men were part of a distribution ring predominantly made up of suspects from Buffalo, police said, but which also included some residents of the city along the St. Lawrence River.
All four men are being held in the St. Lawrence County Jail in lieu of amounts ranging from $10,000 bail to $40,000 bond.
