WHEATFIELD – Twelve Hot Wheel collectibles, valued at $1,200, were stolen in a burglary at a senior citizen complex in the 3900 block of Forest Parkway, Niagara County sheriff’s deputies reported.

A man told deputies Tuesday his 75-year-old father was hospitalized after a fall 10 days ago, and while he and his wife cleaned out the apartment they found that the apartment had been entered and the collectibles were taken out of a box near the door. There were no signs of forced entry.

A few neighbors told deputies that thefts have been a problem in the complex. They said someone was knocking on doors in the middle of the night and they heard someone running down the hallway.
