Erie County sheriff’s deputies made four drunken-driving arrests during New Year’s Eve, including one driver charged with felony DWI following a crash that led to his injury on Stony Point Road, Grand Island.
In that case, William Ross, 60, of Akron, was charged with felony driving while intoxicated. Ross, who refused a breath test, was taken to Erie County Medical Center for treatment of injuries. The DWI charge was upgraded to a felony because of a previous DWI conviction, deputies said.
In the other cases:
• Kevin Prusak, 50, of Kenmore, was charged with DWI following the investigation of disabled vehicle on the side of Route 219 in the Town of Boston, deputies said.
• Peter Walter, 54, of Angola, was charged with DWI after his truck struck a guardrail on Sherman Avenue in North Collins, deputies said. Walter posted a blood-alcohol level of 0.12 percent, deputies added.
• Jason Kinthiseng, 21, of Grand Island, was charged with DWI during an investigation into a domestic disturbance. Kinthiseng, who had fled the residence earlier, was arrested after returning to the scene. He posted a blood-alcohol level of 0.16 percent, according to sheriff’s officials.
