The 18th annual Niagara Icewine Festival will take place later this month in Southern Ontario.
Participating wineries roll out the event starting Jan. 11, when the Fallsview Casino Resort Grand Hall features the “Ice Queen’s Ball,” in which more than 30 wineries will showcase close to 150 ice wines and table wines.
Casino resort chefs will prepare five unique culinary stations, there will be a Sears Canada silent auction and live entertainment.
The festival includes a Discovery Pass Program featuring special tastings and pairings, and from 5 to 9 p.m. Jan. 25, the eighth annual Winterfest in the Square will be held in Historic Market Square in St. Catharines.
The fest will include wine and ice wine tastings from across the Niagara Region, culinary treats from local restaurants and food trucks and live entertainment.
The ball costs $185, the Discovery Pass $40 for several weekends, and the Winterfest has free admission but charges for tastings and food. For tickets and more info, visit niagaraicewinefestival.com
