State Police in Jamestown confirmed Wednesday they continue to investigate the crash that claimed the life of a utility worker the day after Christmas on Route 394 in Westfield.

Billy J. Johnson II, 49, of Crown City, Ohio was fatally injured and Nathaniel L. Bailey of Glenwood, W. Va. was injured when the two employees of CTS Telecommunications of Orrville, Ohio were knocked from the utility bucket of the parked truck on the east shoulder of the road by a car driven by Trudy Williams, 58, of Clymer-Corry Road, Clymer.

It was snowing at the time of the crash and the road was icy, troopers said. Williams, who has not been charged, was going north on Route 394 when her car veered and struck both men.

Johnson was slammed head-first by the car into the bucket of the utility truck, troopers said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Bailey and Williams were treated in Westfield Memorial Hospital.
