LOCKPORT – A bouncer at a defunct Lockport bar pleaded guilty Wednesday to third-degree assault for breaking a patron’s nose, jaw and eye socket at the bar Jan. 8.
Charles J. Bootes, 56, of East Avenue, Lockport, originally was charged with a felony in connection with the incident at the now-closed Finnan’s on Lincoln Avenue. Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas could send Bootes to jail for a year in the case. Sentencing is set for March 6.
The victim, Philip Dearborn, had to have his jaw wired shut and suffered post-concussion syndrome, Assistant District Attorney Claudette S. Caldwell said when Bootes was arraigned in September.
