Cut waste, foreign aid and fix Social Security

I would like to know why the politicians in Washington keep harping on Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and other programs. The majority of us receiving these benefits have been hard-working, tax-paying Americans our entire lives. Yes, there is fraud and dishonesty inherent to the system, but for the most part, it’s working just fine.

As for these programs going broke, the politicians have no one to blame but themselves. For example, put back all the money that was “borrowed” from Social Security for other purposes, or instead of dishing out multibillions to foreign governments, some of which aren’t exactly on the up and up, take a mere $20 billion of that money and funnel it back into these programs along with cutting government waste and fraud. I mean, who really needs a $700 toilet seat?

Please don’t tell me it can’t be done, because we already know that government can do and does whatever it wants when it suits its purposes.
