The City Council has scheduled a work session for 9 a.m. Friday in Council chambers in City Hall, 714 Ridge Road,to discuss possible capital bonds for playground improvements and for major capital improvements, including repairs to a bridge on Ridge Road, near Rosary Avenue.
Also coming up:
• The city’s Board of Assessment Review and city Assessor Frank E. Krakowski will meet three times in January in Council chambers to hear and examine grievances and complaints about property tax assessments.
The meetings are as follows: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Jan. 8, 2013; 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 9; and 4:30 to 8 p.m. on Jan. 10. Call 827-6473 to schedule an appointment.
The tentative assessment roll is on file in the assessor’s office, room 213 of City Hall.
• Comments are due to the state Department of Environmental Conservation on Jan. 4 regarding an application for a Brownfield Cleanup Program for 98 Ridge Road in Lackawanna. The vacant parcel at the northeast corner of Ridge Road and North Gates Avenue is the site of a former dry-cleaning operation.
