Son of the Sun has been busy huddling in the recording studio for the past several months recording the follow-up to last year’s “Almost Not There.” Anyone who has been involved in such an activity knows full well that sometimes, you’ve just got to get up, get out and go play a gig. That’s exactly what the band – vocalist/guitarist Zak Ward, guitarist/keyboardist Joseph Stocker, drummer Brandon Delmont, guitarist Jeremy Franklin and bassist Steve Matthews – will do with a show that kicks off at 10 p.m. Saturday in Nietzsche’s (248 Allen St.).

Son of the Sun will be joined by friends the Andrew J. Reimers Country Punk Extravaganza and Aircraft. Admission is $5. Son of the Sun would like you to know that holiday sweaters are optional, not required, garb. Take that however you like.
