Edward L. Saindoux, an Air Force veteran and former bursary employee at the University at Buffalo, died Dec. 15 in Edward Palm, Fla. He was 79.

Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he grew up in New York City and attended Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx. Mr. Saindoux graduated from New York University with a degree in engineering and was a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. He served in the Air Force for 15 years, from 1955 to 1970, and retired, having achieved the rank of captain.

Mr. Saindoux moved to the Buffalo area in the early 1970s and was employed with the bursary staff at UB. He also served as a professor teaching tax accountancy at UB and was appointed a senior staff assistant in 1989.

Mr. Saindoux relocated to Palm Bay, Fla., where he was a self-employed tax accountant for many years; he had done the same in Buffalo.

He served on the board of the Scruggs Organization for many years and was a fourth degree member of Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by a sister, Letty.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Thomas T. Edwards Funeral Home, 995 Genesee St.
