The School District’s revamped web site, www.k12.ginet.org, is expected to be operational by mid-to-late January,
Molly Marren, district director of instructional technology, said the site will be more “mobile friendly” and will have sub-site navigation.
The project to renovate the seven-year-old site took about a year. Also working on the project was Theresa LeClerc of Erie 1 BOCES.
• When the wind chill is minus 22 degrees or greater, Grand Island schools will close for students’ safety, Interim Superintendent Robert W. Christmann said at last week’s School Board meeting.
An example would be a 10 degree day with a 60 mph wind that would result in a wind chill factor of minus 22. Under those conditions, frostbite cold occur within 30 minutes of exposure.

• The Town Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday Town Hall, 2255 Baseline Road. The board will meet at 6:30 p.m. in the first floor conference room for a workshop followed by a regular meeting at 8 p.m. upstairs in the courtroom.
• A public referendum on the proposed $6.3 million transportation center planned behind Sidway Elementary School will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Grand Island High School gym, 1100 Ransom Road.
