The Niagara men’s basketball team will look to gain some momentum this afternoon as the Purple Eagles host Vermont at 2 p.m. in the Gallagher Center. Niagara is coming off a 75-59 win over Hartford, the 250th career win for coach Joe Mihalich. Today’s game, a BracketBuster return game, features a Vermont team that is the defending America East champions and off to a 6-3 start this season.
Antoine Mason continues to lead Niagara (4-6), averaging 18.6 points.
Tonight at 7, the Niagara women will take the court at Gallagher, hosting Colgate (4-5). The Purple Eagles (4-4) have won three of their last four games.
Meanwhile St. Bonaventure and Canisius will meet in a Big 4 women’s matchup at 1 in the Reilly Center.
The Bonnies have won 17 straight games against Big 4 opponents. At 5-6 this season, Bona is coming off a loss at West Virginia, the last of eight straight road games. Doris Ortega leads Bona, averaging 11.3 points and 6.6 rebounds.
Canisius (2-5) is coming off a loss to Albany.
