Richard J. Quattrini of the Town of Tonawanda, a longtime member and former chief of the Ellwood Volunteer Fire Company, died Friday in Erie County Medical Center. He was 78.
Born in Buffalo, Mr. Quattrini was a graduate of Kenmore High School and a Navy veteran of the Korean War.
During a 45-year career as an electrician, Mr. Quattrini worked for Anco Electric, CIR Electric and Frey Electric, retiring in 1997. A member of Local 41, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, he had been working part time as an electrical inspector for the Town of Tonawanda.
Mr. Quattrini for 45 years was an active member of the Ellwood Volunteer Fire Company. He served as its chief from 1975 to 1976 and was chairman of its Board of Commissioners at the time of his death.
His wife, the former Rosemary Acquavella, died in 2011.
Survivors include two sons, Daniel J. and Richard J. Jr.; a daughter, Janet Aldred; and a sister, Angeline Repich.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1085 Englewood Ave.
