Living Nativity scenes
Three area churches will be offering living Nativity scenes on Sunday.
Ebenezer United Church of Christ will host its event from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Garden of Joy at the front of the church, between 616 and 630 Main St., West Seneca. A multigenerational cast and live animals will be part of the telling of the Christmas story.
A living Nativity scene with live animals also will be portrayed at 5 p.m. and again at 6 on the lawn of Church of the Nativity, 1530 Colvin Boulevard near Sheridan Drive in the Town of Tonawanda.
And Salem Lutheran Church, 10 McClellan Circle, will feature a manger scene from 6 to 8 p.m. with church members playing Mary, Joseph, the angels, shepherds and wise men. Live animals also will be on site.
Latin Advent Mass
St. Casimir Church, 160 Cable St., will offer a traditional Latin Advent Mass, or “Rorate Mass,” at 7 p.m. today. Thomas Witakowski will direct an all-male ensemble singing Gregorian Chant Advent and Mass dialogues. The Rev. Czeslaw Krysa will preach on “Advent Song & Darkness.”
The Chapel at Crosspoint in Amherst will host multiple performances today and Sunday of “America’s Got Christmas,” a live Christmas production featuring an orchestra, 85-person choir and stage and screen drama. This year’s performance also features Grammy-nominated recording artist Michael O’Brien.

Holiday music collection
Clarence First Presbyterian Church will present a collection of special Christmas music featuring the Chancel Choir, the Church Orchestra and guest musicians, the Children’s/Youth Choir and the Children’s/Youth Hand Chime Choir and a Children’s Christmas Pageant at 10 a.m. Sunday, at 9675 Main St., Clarence (next to Clarence High School). The pageant includes shepherds, angels and a living manger scene. A special reception and fellowship time follows the service. The public is invited to attend. Free will offering. Blue Christmas service
A Blue Christmas service designed to comfort those in mourning, who are ill or injured, or who are overwhelmed with the holiday season, will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday, at Faith United Church of Christ, 8651 Boston State Road, Boston.
