Too-ra-loo-ra-loo! Pat-a-pat-a-pan! Christmas carols can, with a little twist, have an Irish flair. Eileen Ivers will prove that at 8 tonight, when she brings her “Eileen Ivers’ An Nollaig: An Irish Christmas” to the Riviera Theater (67 Webster St., North Tonawanda).
The former fiddler for “Riverdance” is not only a fine Celtic musician, but an adept performer of many styles. For the record, in 2003 she performed with two other violinists, jazz violinist Regina Carter and classical virtuoso Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, for the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra’s season opening gala. They called themselves “Fiddlers Three” and it was a tremendous romp. For her Riviera show, Ivers will be joined by her band, Immigrant Soul. On tap, like good brown ale, will be traditional Irish songs and carols as well as original tunes.
Admission is $30-$35. For more information, call 692-2413.
