U.S.-bound travelers with NEXUS passes will be able to use them on weekday mornings when they cross from Canada at the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge, beginning Monday, U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced.
The first NEXUS lane to be opened at Lewiston will be in operation two hours Monday through Friday, from 7 to 9 a.m. NEXUS service in Queenston for Canadian-bound travelers is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
Meanwhile, NEXUS service is being cut back for U.S.-bound motorists on the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls. NEXUS lanes will be open only from 6 to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday and 8 to 10 a.m. on weekends and holidays. The NEXUS lanes on the Canadian side were closed in January 2011.
NEXUS hours will remain the same at the NEXUS-only Whirlpool Bridge, where lanes are open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, and at the Peace Bridge, where they are open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. weekends and holidays.
