A 26-year-old Sloan woman admitted on Tuesday that she stole more than $44,125 from her grandfather’s bank account by forging checks to herself, according to the Erie County District Attorney’s Office.

Jennifer Furan, of Francis Avenue, pleaded guilty to third-degree grand larceny before Erie County Judge Michael Pietruszka.

Furan faces a prison term of up to seven years when sentenced as a second felony offender on Jan. 23.
