A Black Rock couple was stabbed early Saturday by a 32-year-old man who broke into their home and knocked down their bedroom door, Buffalo police said.

Marvell Belton, of Hill Street on Buffalo’s East Side, was charged with first-degree burglary, a felony, police said.

The victims, were taken to Erie County Medical Center, where they were treated for their injuries, then released, hospital officials said Sunday.

Belton broke into the Clay Street home about 1:45 a.m. Saturday, according to C District police. He broke the front door to gain entry to the home, then broke down the bedroom door where the couple were at the time, according to a police report.

Belton stabbed the woman in the left side of her body with a large a large hunting knife, causing a large cut, police said. Belton then stabbed the man in his right forearm, his right hand, and near his left eye, police said.

Belton was arrested in the couple’s Clay Street home, police said.
