An autopsy showed that the suspected drunk driver who crashed into a pole killing a pedestrian Thursday night died of the gunshot wound, police said.

Issac Parker, 48, of Briscoe Avenue was driving with a revoked license and had at least two driving while intoxicated convictions on his record.

He was stopped by two Buffalo police officers from the housing unit at Fillmore Avenue and Best Street Thursday evening when a struggle ensued. As the officers were trying to turn off his ignition, Parker hit the accelerator. One of the officers fired one shot.

Parker sped away but ended up crashing into three light poles, one of which fell on top of Ida Murphy, 54, who had walked to the store to get some juice.

Murphy died as a result of blunt force trauma, police said.
