JAMESTOWN – An elderly Jamestown woman died after being struck by a pickup while crossing West Fourth Street about 10:44 a.m. Friday, Jamestown police said.
Angeline Marucci, 85, died in WCA Hospital about three hours after the incident, police said. The driver of the pickup was not charged. The victim was walking south on West Fourth and crossed between Lafayette and Washington streets, police said.
The pickup, driven by a man described only as being from Jamestown and 59, was in the center lane of the three-lane, oneway street when Marucci was struck, police sdid. An investigation by the Jamestown Police Accident Investigation Unit and Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Accident Reconstruction Team determined the driver was not at fault, police said.
