Unionized workers at St. Catherine’s Laboure Health Care Center in Buffalo have ratified a new contract.

The vote was “nearly unanimous” in favor, according to 1199 SEIU United Healthcare Workers East, which represents the workers.

The contract covers about 75 certified nursing assistants, licensed practical nurses and unit secretaries. The new deal includes a wage increase of 8.25 percent over four years, longevity bonuses and maintains current employer contributions to health insurance. It also calls for creating a labor-management committee, grievance procedure and seniority rights.
