LEWISTON – The New York Power Authority will host its annual free “Deck the Halls” event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Power Vista at the Niagara Power Project, 5777 Lewiston Road.

Lewiston Boy Scout Troop 855 will sell hot dogs, roasted chestnuts and hot chocolate during the event. The state parks department will provide free rides on its Niagara Scenic Trolley between the Gorge Discovery Center and the Power Vista. Santa will pose for photos until 2 p.m.

Also, there will be crafts, performances by the Niagara Experience Players and an informational exhibit on energy-efficient lights and tips on celebrating a green holiday.

Keeping up with that theme, the Power Vista has its annual Festival of Trees through Jan. 5. The trees, in the Power Vista’s glass walkway, were decorated with energy-efficient lights by local not-for-profit groups. It is an official stop along the “Holiday Lights of Niagara Trail.”
