Buffalo construction company LPCiminelli has opened a New York City office as part of a push to become a bigger player in the downstate, New Jersey and Connecticut markets.

“We have three significant projects in the greater New York region and more opportunities on the immediate horizon, so the timing was right to establish a permanent presence in the city,” said Louis P. Ciminelli, the company’s chairman and chief executive officer.

“We have always been a strategy-driven company, seeking to have our client relationships and industry partnerships lead the expansion of our geographic footprint, as opposed to simply targeting a hot market and opening an office,” he said.
