NIAGARA FALLS – A city man accused in a domestic assault case was charged with punching an Orleans Avenue woman in the face while wearing brass knuckles Monday.

William L. Putnam Jr., 26, of Livingston Avenue, was found at his home at 9:50 p.m. and charged with felony counts of second-degree assault with a weapon, first-degree criminal contempt – for violating an order of protection – and first-degree burglary. He also was charged with second-degree harassment, a misdemeanor.

A 29-year-old woman was found with a swollen and red face and told police that she believes a tooth was loosened in the assault, according to police.
