Two women – one from North Tonawanda, the other from Sanborn – are suing a Massachusetts food supplier over allegations that it produced an organic spinach and spring mix infected with E.coli bacteria.

Erica Duerr, 32, and her mother-in-law, Beth Duerr, 60, filed suit against State Garden Inc. in U.S. District Court in Buffalo Tuesday.

The women claim they bought a package of the infected salad mix from a local supermarket in October and subsequently suffered serious gastrointestinal problems, including nausea and cramps, that required treatment at a local hospital.

The Duerrs are suing for damages and attorney fees.
