An unidentified driver who may have suffered a medical emergency slammed into a house on High Court in Amherst Tuesday morning, narrowly missing a several children waiting for their school bus, police said.

The young man was taken by ambulance following the incident, which occurred at about 8:33 a.m.

Jack E. Mimmack, 82, the homeowner, said the driver was verbally unresponsive but was able to nod his head.

The accident remains under investigation.
