ALBANY – Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo will be in Buffalo Tuesday for a morning event at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center that will include discussions of at least several economic development initiatives.

The governor will hear from members of the Western New York Regional Economic Development Council, which has been charged with devising ideas on ways to bolster unique aspects of the area’s economy and to provide advice on the governor’s pledge to spend $1 billion over five years on local job creation projects.

The trip comes after what will be a non-stop round of meetings – starting at the White House at 12:30 today and ending with sessions on Capitol Hill with Republicans and Democrats – in his quest to get $42 billion in federal funding for help in rebuilding parts of downstate in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy.
